Ramu Mamra is a grade within the Iranian Mamra almond family, sourced from the same growing regions as standard Mamra. Naming reflects trade grading conventions used by growers and traders, not a separate almond species.
Mamra almonds are hand-harvested, sun-dried, and higher in natural oil content than machine-harvested, commercially pasteurised California almonds — giving a nuttier, more intense taste.
Soaking 8–10 almonds overnight and eating them peeled the next morning is a common traditional practice.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 60 days. High oil content means faster rancidity if exposed to heat or moisture.
