Mamra almonds are a round, high-oil almond variety single-sourced from Iran — distinct from the flat, elongated California or Indian thin-shelled varieties. The “Mini” designation refers to the smaller kernel size within the Mamra category. These kernels are denser with a naturally wrinkled surface and a concentrated, richly flavoured core that sets them apart from larger varieties.
Irani Mamra almonds have a higher natural oil content, a rounder shape, and a denser, more intensely flavoured kernel compared to Californian varieties. They are traditionally valued both for raw consumption and for Indian milk preparations where their oil content enriches the dish.

A standard serving is approximately 23 almonds (28g), which provides around 165 kcal, 6g protein, 14g fat, and 6g carbohydrates. Mamra varieties tend toward a slightly higher fat figure due to oil content — check the pack label for the specific value.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. The higher oil content in Mamra almonds makes them more prone to rancidity in warm or humid conditions. For packs you plan to keep beyond a month, refrigeration is advisable.
